Tap is a style of dance that helps develop rhythm, coordination and timing as well as allowing students to make music with their feet. From hoofing to soft shoe...buffalo's and wings... explore tap's various steps and combination's.


Tap classes are broken down by levels I-III

Tap I (Beginner): Wednesdays 5:30-6:30
Tap II (Intermediate): Tuesdays 4:30-5:30
Tap III (Advanced): Tuesdays 6:30-7:30



Beginners will explore the fundamentals of classic jazz focusing on technique and terminology. Students will do proper warm-ups, across the floor exercises, combination's and cool downs. Intermediate and advanced classes will learn about various styles of jazz. Students will improve their flexibility and increase memory skills while advancing in their detailed routines.


Jazz classes are broken down by levels I-III

Jazz I (Beginner): Wednesdays 4:30-5:30
Jazz II (Intermediate): Tuesdays 5:30-6:30
Jazz III (Advanced): Tuesdays 7:30-8:30



(Ages 2.5 - 4)

Children will learn coordination, rhythm, & flexibility while enhancing learning & discipline skills. Children learn to participate in a structured environment, learn to follow directions, have respect for themselves as well as others, practice taking turns and increase their self-esteem! “Creative Movement” is an introductory combo class for young children that incorporates acrobatics, jazz, tap and ballet.

Wednesdays 3:30-4:30



(Ages 5 & Up)

This class will introduce younger students to ballet fundamentals, including body alignment, vocabulary, and basic positions of the feet & arms. Simple coordination, musicality, rhythm and concentration will be emphasized. Students are encouraged to explore space and have fun with dance. This class will cover the fundamentals of classical ballet technique.

Thursdays 3:30-4:30




Lyrical dance is a dance style that combines elements of ballet, modern and Jazz dance techniques. The goal of a lyrical dancer is to use gesture, facial expression, and controlled movements in order to execute their movements and emotions fully. Besides emotional connection to music, lyrical dance typically encourages use of articulation, line, weight, and movement qualities. This class will combine the art of lyrical with Ballet. The Ballet portion of the class will cover body awareness, flexibility, dancer alignment terminology. The ballet barre, center work and floor progressions will be used.

Mondays 6:00-7:00


(Must be enrolled in Ballet/Lyrical, Must 12 years of age or older)

This class is offered to students of the Ballet/Lyrical class to help further classical dance training.
En Pointe will develop strength in the feet, ankles, legs, knees and abdomen.

Mondays 7:00-7:45



(all ages welcome)

"Lifts, Dips & Tricks" Students will learn basic stacking, lifting and "flying". Understand balance and counterbalance. Learn to blend elements from Pairs Ice Skating, Adagio, Swing Dance, Modern Dance, Sports Acrobatics and Partner Yoga. Focus on developing strength and flexibility, team work and team safety. Licensed teacher, Maria-Elena Alfieri brings her technique from California to Stuart!

Cirque I Mondays 4:00-5:00
Cirque II Mondays 5:00-6:00 


 
  (beginner to intermediate)

This class will be an exciting, active way for your child to get into the fun of hip hop (building stamina, learning body isolation's, working on free-style movement and rhythm) while also working on their acro skills (backbends, cartwheels, round offs, handstands). They will begin and end each class with YOGA stretches and poses as a way of developing self awareness, improving concentration and clear thinking, boosting creativity and relaxation. 

Tuesdays 3:30-4:30



(Intermediate to Advanced)

Dance and get an aerobic workout all at once. For teens and older. Classes start off with a basic warm-up, then Jessica breaks the class down with a hip-hop combination. Learn the basic foundations of the movement and style of Jazz Funk Hip Hop. This class teaches rhythm, coordination, musicality, and hip hop choreography without overly suggestive music/movements. Students are challenged to think on their feet while enjoying an energetic and fast-paced dance class. Our Hip Hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun!

 

Mondays 7:00-8:00



Modern Dance centers on a dancer's own interpretations, favoring movements derived from the expression of their inner feelings. Rather than leaning towards structured technique, modern dance favors a more relaxed, free style of dancing. Contemporary Dance alows the lyrics to play a large role in defining the movement and choreography. Each class includes warm-up, floor work and across the floor sequences. We will explore weight, suspension, release, contracting, strength, flexibility, and creativity. Exercises and combinations encourage comfort and understanding of personal movement.

Thursdays 5:00-6:00
 



(All ages welcome, no experience needed)

Fencing is a sport that stresses the values of mutual respect, discipline, honor, loyalty, courage, character, self-esteem, self-control, individuality, as well as leadership and teamwork. Like martial arts, it requires both physical and mental conditioning. This 6 week class is designed to introduce beginners to the exciting world of fencing. Students will learn rules and techniques by participating in group drills and one-on-one instruction, as well as enjoy controlled bouts and friendly classroom tournaments. Equipment supplied by instructor KJ Moran.
